I Have Some Important News...

If you have been following the blog, please read this post as it has some important announcements for the new year. How is it nearly 2025 already?! Over the past two years, I've been working towards the goal of joining my dream writing college. But with new opportunity comes new seasons and priority. SO. I won't waste any more time with the introduction and get right to it.

JOINING THE AUTHOR CONSERVATORY

As many of you may know, I was recently accepted into a three-year college alternative for writers. Starting in January, I will be pursuing my author dreams and career seriously through The Author Conservatory! I'm so excited and grateful to begin this journey.

The Author Conservatory is an online college alternative training authors in advanced writing craft and the business skills needed to get published and build a sustainable writing career. I'll be getting personal mentorship from agents, publishers, and professional authors as I complete novels and start my own business.

Which brings me to...

THE SAID HARD DECISION

I decided to cancel my podcast.

Yes, you read that right. No, it's not a joke.

My instructors at The Young Writer Workshop and I have agreed that this was the best decision for my season of life. The Author Conservatory will be a big time commitment and I want to take full advantage of the resources and opportunities there.

I have loved every minute of having a blog and getting to know so many of you! I have learned so many valuable lessons along the way. Now, God is calling me to spend the majority of my time elsewhere.

As much fun as it is, blogging is a lot of work and has been taking away from my actual writing. I originally started blogging for the joy of it but quickly got sucked into a content creation hampster wheel (iykyk 😅) which was draining a lot of my creativity and joy.

I want to be able to gain more experience and expertise with my writing before pouring large amounts of time into teaching it.

For these reasons, blogging won't be a priority either.

*deep breath*

That's such a relief to say. 😂

I've been needing to make this decision for a while as I just haven't been able to keep up or invest the time to keep up.

I would love to start an email list and add to my website when I have the time and instruction to do so. I may pop into your inbox once in a while with bookish posts and updates, but it will be much more random and infrequent.

My top priority right now is to write stories and learn to write them well. Before I highly prioritize building a platform. It's still my dream to return to podcasting. But God has made it clear that that's another project for another season! So I guess you could call it a long-time postponement.

We shall see.

It's been so cool to see how this humble little blog has grown over the past two years. I'm so grateful for every single person who was kind enough to subscribe. Thank you! And I'm super grateful for the ability to connect with many of you in the comments, over email, and in various collab posts. I've made so many friends through this. (And I'll be in the comment section of some of your guys' blogs, of course, cheering you on! I can't wait to see where you go and the powerful stories you will write.)
